Statement on the Media Projection of the Presidential Election

ORANGE COUNTY, CA - Hon. Fred M. Whitaker, Chairman of the Republican Party of Orange County, released the following statement:

"Media projections do not determine the President of the United States. The vote of the American people does. Not a single state has certified their election results.
 
It is irresponsible for the media to call an election while at least 5 states are still counting votes and are within 1% margins. We support the Trump campaign's legal challenges and potential recounts. Our nation must be confident that a legitimate election has occurred. Unfortunately many states have clearly fallen short on the most basic standards of transparency.

The  media may have written the headline they were working on for the past four years. But for our part,  we will wait for the certification and legal processes to be completed to decide the Presidency."
