Team, it might have taken a little longer than we hoped, but we did it.

Joe Biden is the President-elect of the United States of America. And Kamala Harris just made history as the first female, Black and Asian American vice president-elect.

This victory is a testament to every single organizer, every single grassroots donor who chipped in $5 or $10 to candidates they believed in, every single American who did whatever it took to cast their ballot and encouraged their friends and family to do the same. The margin of victory is razor-thin in some states - every call made, every text sent, every dollar raised made the difference.

There's no doubt we suffered a few losses along the way. Control of the Senate is still up in the air, with two runoffs in Georgia set for January, and our House Majority narrowed a bit. And it's a bitter reality that hundreds of millions of Americans cast their vote for a racist wannabe-strongman in Donald Trump.

So the work is not over, and there's no doubt Trump will attempt to throw some last-minute punches on his way out the door. But we should be so proud of the movement we've built across this nation - a movement that is far from over and will carry us to victory.

Take a breath. Celebrate.

And then let's get to work. Science-based COVID-19 mitigation. An equitable economic recovery. Climate change. Gun violence prevention. LGBTQ+ rights. It's all on the agenda in January, and I'll be working right alongside Joe and Kamala to get it done.

- David
