GoPuff buys BevMo delivery service for $350 million

The Philadelphia-based GoPuff delivery service has agreed to buy California-based liquor delivery service BevMo and its 161 West Coast stores for $350 million. GoPuff has seen sales increase significantly since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent shutdowns. “Through this acquisition, GoPuff will operate coast-to-coast," said GoPuff co-chief executive Rafael Ilishayev.

Full-service restaurants may not recover until 2025

Although restaurant sales should bounce back in 2021, they will not fully recover until much later. According to Technomic, limited-service restaurants are projected to fully recover by 2023. The full-service sector, on the other hand, isn't expected to return to pre-pandemic numbers until 2025.
