John,

Thank you. Thank you deeply for your support, dedication, and undying belief in a better Wisconsin.

Though we did not receive our desired results, it is crucial to remember we are all part of goals greater than ourselves, greater than just me.

We received 50,000 more Democratic votes than in 2016. Our campaign played a pointed role in making Waukesha and Washington counties less red than they once were. These were critical pieces of Joe Biden’s victory in Wisconsin. In this tight election, every single vote counts.

We are proud of this feat. You should be proud of this accomplishment.

All of our determined volunteers, passionate supporters, and everyone who generously contributed to this movement have my unwavering gratitude. I also owe tremendous thanks to my amazing wife and love of my life, Terri, and my children, Max, Erik, and Maddie, who inspire me to fight for future generations.

We made progress in this district, but we also made progress in Wisconsin. And with Joe Biden poised to enter the White House, we are making progress as a nation. Though defeat stings, I ask you to remember that we are part of a greater mission.

I will always believe in progress over partisanship, country over party, and unity over division. Undeniably, our country is still divided. Though these divides run deep in our own district, they are not insurmountable.

These truths are bigger than any of us, and I am warmed to know that so many Wisconsinites will continue spreading these messages.

We will continue to make change among our friends, family, and community members. We will continue to strive for progress. We will continue to reach out to those who disagree with us to find common ground. Despite all of our differences, we are more alike as Americans than we are different.

This campaign and this chapter of my life have been challenging yet so rewarding. Every bit of the challenge is worth the reward of changing minds, bringing people together, and creating a vision of a new way forward for Wisconsin. My chapter as a candidate is over, but my time as a community member and changemaker will continue. I look forward to empowering future candidates in this district who stand for progress.

There are great things on the horizon. It is incumbent on all of us to go out and pursue them. It has been a privilege and honor to pursue them as your candidate and it will be an honor to continue fighting for change in our district.

Thank you,

Tom Palzewicz
