(NC) Olde Mecklenburg partners with Tryon Distributing to distribute in the Triangle

The Olde Mecklenburg Brewery (OMB) has teamed up with Tryon Distributing to bring its award-winning line of pure, fresh, traditionally brewed lagers and ales to the Triangle and surrounding counties for the first time this fall. Tryon will distribute fresh OMB beer to 19 counties in Central North Carolina, including the Raleigh/Durham metro area.

Blue Moon releases Iced Coffee Blonde beer nationwide

Recently, major players in both beer and coffee have jumped into the spiked coffee space including Pabst Blue Ribbon and La Colombe. Now, another big name is going the coffee route. Though Blue Moon isn’t releasing a hard coffee, the MillerCoors-owned brewery is introducing Blue Moon Iced Coffee Blonde beer—making them the biggest brand to bring a pale coffee beer nationwide.

Will gas prices go up after Saudi attack? Experts say yes.

Drone strikes on two major oil facilities in Saudi Arabia Saturday could impact the price of gas in the coming weeks, experts say. By some estimates, the price per barrel could rise $5 to $10, which translates into 10- to 24-cent increases for gas, diesel and jet fuel, according to Tom Kloza, an analyst at the Oil Price Information Service.

Package stores dig in for ballot question fight

Package stores in Massachusetts are gearing up for what could be a costly ballot battle with a multinational convenience store chain that wants to lift the state’s restrictions on alcohol licenses. A proposal by Cumberland Farms would lift the state’s cap on off-premise beer and wine licenses until they are eliminated in 2024. Robert Mellion, executive director of the Massachusetts Package Store Association, calls it “a unilateral action being taken by an international corporation, which is aimed at taking control of the state’s marketplace.”
