Dear
John,
The first polls have closed, and we are finally on the home stretch of this hugely critical election.
You may be feeling a range of emotions right now, and I also know the waiting can be the hardest part.
It's going to take a while to count every vote and verify results. That's a good thing, and it means our democracy is working. The only downside is the amount of leftover Halloween candy I'm at risk of stress eating between now and then.
But all of that aside, there's no shortage of real reasons to be confident about our future. You, and this community of supporters, are at the top of that list.
I love the voter selfies that so many of you have shared with us. It's not too late to share yours and tag us on social media @NPWF. You can also reply to this email and send us your selfie as an attachment.

I've been thinking a lot about that fateful night four years ago, but I'm choosing to focus more on what happened next.
What began with pink hats and the Women's March in January 2017 became a movement that even the most regressive and hostile administration of our lifetimes could not suppress.
This fierce urgency of women’s voices gave millions of people around the country the courage to say #MeToo and bravely reclaim their power. It led to an unprecedented wave of women running for office in 2018 and breaking historical barriers by electing the most female and diverse Congress in our nation’s history. And as we watched Black lives taken with impunity, the Black Lives Matter movement led us to take action on fighting against racism and our country’s other deep structural inequities.
All of this energy and momentum is reflected in the record setting voter turnout we're seeing this election.
As we eagerly await the results, I want to stress to you as a supporter of the National Partnership for Women & Families that no matter what happens, our movement is an undeniable force that will move this country forward.
That's what's giving me hope tonight, and I hope you feel it too.
Sincerely,
— Debra
