Dear John,

Our leaders do not pick their voters. The basis of American democracy is that “we the people” pick our leaders.

But a powerful few are making voting deliberately difficult. For example, long lines at polling locations may be a sign of record voter turnout and enthusiasm to chart a new path for our country. But there’s another reason why hours-long lines are more prevalent in predominantly Black and Brown communities, and it has everything to do with voter suppression.

Please help spread the word about voter protection efforts by sharing the election protection hotlines below on your social media.

You can also copy/paste our latest election protection blog to your neighborhood listservs.

Every Vote Counts

Election protection teams are hard at work today in neighborhoods all across the country, helping voters exercise their right free from intimidation.

They are prepared to take our calls if we witness or experience ANY problems today.

If you have questions before polls close, if you have problems voting, or if you see others' right to vote being suppressed, please call the election protection hotline and you'll be connected to a nonpartisan trained volunteer who can help.

P.S. If you see a long line at the polls today, snap a picture and share it along with the location to @PizzatothePolls. You can also donate to help them deliver pizzas and other treats to polling places with long lines. And be sure to tag @NPWF with your favorite “I Voted” selfie!
