In the final hours before Election Day, let us embrace these words from Abraham Lincoln’s Second Inaugural Address:
“With firmness in the right…let us strive on to finish the work we are in, to bind up the nation's wounds…”
I hope you take this to heart.
Our movement, and everyone who has joined us in this historic coalition, is on the right side of history.
Trumpism is a malignancy that, if allowed to fester, would prove lethal to the founding ideals of our nation and the institutions that protect them.
We took a stand, and you joined us John, to suppress the rise of illiberal, intolerant, and immoral forces in our democracy.
We are winning. They are losing.
But this does not end on November 3.
The fight against Trumpism is only just beginning.
The hours and days after polls close may be the most turbulent period in our nation’s recent history. We must prepare. We must be ready.
Take a moment to look at what Reed wrote to you yesterday, John. We're just short of our goal for October, and with only a few hours to go, we could really use your help.
