Earlier this week, the GOP chose their right-wing agenda over the American people. My name is Rep. Deb Butler, and I saw first-hand when Republicans hijacked democracy in North Carolina.

The Republican House speaker assured Democrats that no votes were occurring. But in a move that shocked all those that believe in good governance, Republicans forced a vote on the veto override – while people were observing the anniversary of 9/11.

This is the legacy Republicans want to leave – one grounded on trickery and deceit. And they'll keep attacking our democracy until they get what they want.
