John, I'm excited to share the latest from CRC with you:

  • What were federal law enforcement's biggest failures during Russiagate?
The parade of errors and misdeeds is so long that not even FBI lawyer Kevin Clinesmith, who pled guilty to tampering with a key piece of evidence, breaks the top three. The FBI's credulous acceptance of the Steele dossier, despite a multitude of red flags, tops the list. CRC's Ken Braun continues his survey of Russiagate's smoking wreckage here.
  • How is the Left gaming the 2020 Census?
Colorado was an early target of left-wing megadonors colluding in the Funders Committee for Civic Participation, which launched a well-funded campaign that helped convert Colorado from a battleground state into a reliably Democratic state. The Funders Committee is applying its model to other battleground states, including Florida, Nevada, North Carolina, Michigan, and Ohio. CRC's Hayden Ludwig reports here.
  • What is behind Demand Justice?
Demand Justice--the same ideologues who led the Left's ugly campaign to smear Justice Brett Kavanaugh in 2018--is at the center of the disinformation machine aimed at stopping Barrett and packing the Supreme Court with far-left justices. Yet it's not even a real organization. CRC's Hayden Ludwig peaks behind the curtain here and, as a bonus, documents many of the histrionics of leading activist groups during the confirmation hearings here.
  • Why does Democracy Alliance place such emphasis on confidentiality and secrecy?
Democracy Alliance holds conferences twice a year to assist networking between wealthy donors and leaders of activist groups vetted by Democracy Alliance. Despite the omnipresent shred bins and other security measures at these conferences, InfluenceWatch has aggregated information on the attendees, speakers, themes, and session hosts here.

The Oscars Go Woke

The Academy Awards' new policy requiring films' casts and crews meet diversity quotas in order to win best picture means it will be impossible to know if the "best picture" was actually the best picture, or just the best picture that met politically correct quotas. Resentment over the winner not being the rightful one will grow, divide us further, and prevent the achievement of the humanistic, post-racial world Martin Luther King Jr. dreamed of.

InfluenceWatch Podcast 141 Big Money Politics
(with guest Joe Schoffstall)

In this episode, we talk about the Capital Research Center’s new report on Arabella Advisors, The Shadow over America, which details a little-known $635 million “dark money” network and is a follow-on to our report from last year, Big Money in Dark Shadows, that initially charted the massive Arabella empire. Joining us today is CRC’s Hayden Ludwig, the report’s author, and Joe Schoffstall, another expert on Arabella and the activist Left in general and a writer for the Washington Free Beacon.
