Do You Plan To Use A Vote By Mail Ballot?

Deliver It In Person

Hello-

A lot of voters in New Hanover County have unused absentee ballots. If you have one and you want to use it, please heed this advice: Don't put your absentee ballot in the mail. It's too late.

Back in August the Post Office issued an advisory saying that you should allow at least 7 days for delivery of your ballot, so if you mail it now, it may not get there in time.

To deliver your ballot in person, here are the options:

You can deliver your ballot to any early voting site until 3 p.m. on Saturday October 31st (Halloween!) Wear a costume if you like.

You can deliver your ballot to the Board of Elections on weekdays from now until Election Day, November 3rd at 5 p.m. (This option is easy and fast. I did it and it took a total of 6 minutes.)

You must fill out the container envelope and have your ballot witnessed even if you are delivering it in person.

Your absentee ballot will not be accepted on Election Day at a precinct polling place. I'm sorry, that won't work. But please do use one of the options above to make sure your ballot is counted. We need your vote!

Best,

Richard Poole, Chair
