Last week, I reached out about four women running in “Red to Blue” districts. Today, I wanted to reach out about a few more key races I’m focusing in on during the final days of the election cycle.

After four years of distractions and broken promises from the current President and his party, it is absolutely essential we expand our majority in the House. That’s the only way we’ll pass the kind of progressive change you and I believe in.

That’s why I’m focusing on seats currently held by Republicans that Democrats have a real chance of winning in two weeks. I have four incredible candidates I want to talk about with you today: Jackie Gordon in New York, Sri Preston Kulkarni in Texas, Hiral Tipirneni in Arizona, and Desiree Tims in Ohio.

I am supporting these leaders because they’re service-first leaders who want to get to Washington simply to do the work. I’m personally asking you to join me and show your support with a split donation for these four trailblazers.

Jamaican-born, Lieutenant Colonel Jackie Gordon is the absolute definition of service and achievement. She is literally a battle-tested veteran, who has also served her community as an educator and guidance counselor for the NYPS. Although she’s a first time candidate running in a Republican stronghold district, the DCCC has given her campaign official ‘Red to Blue’ designation meaning they see it as one of our very best chances to pick up a seat.

Sri Preston Kulkarni is also a historic candidate. He’d be the first Hindu person and first Asian American to represent Texas in Congress. He’s also grounded in service, having helped take care of his siblings after his father died of cancer. With a sterling career as a US Foreign Service Officer, he came within an inch of defeating GOP Rep. Pete Olson last cycle. This time, he’s going to get it done -- but he needs our help.

Hiral Tipirneni immigrated here from India when she was three. Her parents instilled in her that the American Dream was possible if you were willing to put in the work to achieve it. She was willing and chose to serve by becoming a doctor and focusing on cancer research, partially due to experiencing childhood illness herself. Her incredible candidacy has made the race for AZ-06 too close to call right now -- after the incumbent GOP rep won by 10 points last cycle! This one is in our reach, if we all step up.

The first in her family to attend a four-year college, Desiree Tims has taken that opportunity and blazed a trail with it. She has served in the offices of Sen. Sherrod Brown, Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, and President Obama’s White House. She has also served as the President of the Senate Black Legislative Staff Caucus. She’s running to restore and redefine the American Dream -- and to bring the promise of basic equity to all.

These pioneers are incredibly powerful voices, advocates, and community members. They are the kind of leaders we need to rebuild what Donald Trump has broken and make progress for American families.

This is why these races are so critical. We need new voices and faces in Washington. Donate now.

With gratitude,

Joe
