John,

Yesterday, I was in Belden, MS to tour the Itawamba Community College Workforce Training Center and discuss my plans to ensure Mississippians have the skills to move our state forward by improving workforce-training programs and making community college tuition-free.

As governor, I will prioritize:
Expanding a Tuition Assistance Program for community college students statewide
Expanding apprenticeship programs
Helping graduating high school seniors earn industry-recognized certifications
Expanding a program to teach high school students essential job skills statewide

Many economists agree -- a more skilled workforce is key to attracting businesses and growing our economy. We must act now to ensure Mississippians have the skills that industries will look for in the future. Can you chip in now to help my vision to move Mississippi forward become a reality?

It’s important that we provide Mississippians with skills training opportunities that help them build careers where they can earn good wages and provide for their families. It’s important that we invest in our workers to show companies we are ready to work. And it’s important that we elect a governor who understands what’s at stake and will lead Mississippi into the future. Can you contribute today to support our campaign?

Thanks,
Jim
