Just moments ago, the Senate voted to confirm Amy Coney Barrett to a lifetime appointment on the Supreme Court.
Barrett is a far-right judge whose record indicates she would vote to end the Affordable Care Act and overturn Roe v. Wade. She has repeatedly ruled against victims of sexual assault and supports a group that wants to criminalize in vitro fertilization.
With Trump’s stolen Supreme Court majority our rights and our democracy are at risk. But there is a way to undo the damage Republicans have caused -- adding seats and appointing justices who will restore balance to the Court.
To be frank, we’re pissed off that the GOP rushed an illegitimate confirmation process to fill Justice Ginsburg’s vacant seat.

Donald Trump and Mitch McConnell have broken the rules to install far-right judges and make the Court too partisan and political.
An ideologically unbalanced Supreme Court is a threat to our rights and our democracy. Which is why we must add more seats to the bench and appoint justices who will restore balance and legitimacy.
Republicans are counting on us to give up, but we don’t have to. Adding seats is simple and straightforward: Congress can change the size of the Court at any time -- they’ve done so seven times throughout American history. This is the fastest way to restore balance and to ensure our basic constitutional rights are protected.

I -- the past few months have felt grim and heavy. Many of us are still feeling the loss of Justice Ginsburg. We can continue to fight to protect her legacy by restoring balance to the Court.
We are so moved and encouraged by advocates like you who refuse to sit idly by as the GOP attempts to hijack our courts. Together, we will fight back with all we’ve got.
