Like Julie, Jamaal and Ayanna aren't your typical politicians, and a whole lot of people told them they didn't have a chance.

They were wrong.

Squad member Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley likely needs no introduction. In 2018, Ayanna won her own tough primary fight and was elected in the general to represent MA-7, making her the first woman of color to be elected to Congress from Massachusetts. In Congress, Ayanna has been dedicated to the kind of bold, activist leadership she emphasized throughout her groundbreaking campaign — introducing legislation to ensure fair compensation for low-wage workers, to support survivors of sexual assault and harassment, and to fundamentally reimagine our criminal legal system.

Jamaal Bowman is a fierce progressive and educator who is running in New York's 16th District and toppled the Democratic incumbent in a tough primary fight back in June. Jamaal will work in Congress to advance bold solutions — like fighting to end mass incarceration and working to guarantee that health care is a human right in this country.

I'm sure they'll have a lot to say about their own campaigns, and we can't wait to see Julie work with them in Congress.
