This is a long email about why I decided to run for Congress. I hope you’ll take a moment to read it, then consider chipping in $3 to support my campaign to improve the lives of working families in Texas and across this country >>
I’m the daughter of a working mother. I saw the challenges she faced at her factory job -- without the union protections or paid family and medical leave that some can rely on. We didn’t always have a roof over our heads, and being homeless from time to time was not easy. But I was fortunate because school became my second home. My experience taught me the value of public schools and education. That’s why I ran for and was elected to my local school board. And it’s why I’ll continue to fight for students, parents, and teachers in Congress. Unfortunately, Republican PACs are hellbent on defeating me and are spending MILLIONS in Texas to shut the door on the progress we seek for working families. Well I have news for them: I won’t let them stop me. I’m used to overcoming the odds, and we’re going to do it again when we flip this seat red to blue: Will you chip in $3 to help me flip TX-24 so we can take our fight for working families to the US Congress?
