Dear John,
Hundreds of volunteers. Thousands of advocates speaking out. Congregations across the United States, Canada, Europe and the world taking action. Even amidst the uncertainty of a global health pandemic and against the rising tide of hateful anti-immigrant rhetoric, the Jewish movement for refugees and asylum seekers is stronger than ever.
In that spirit, you are invited to take part in HIAS’ third annual Refugee Shabbat on March 5-6, 2021. This will be an opportunity to once again join together to raise awareness, celebrate our advocacy efforts, and recognize the powerful work that is being done to welcome refugees and asylum seekers, despite the challenges of this moment.
For now, please register your participation in Refugee Shabbat 2021 to join the powerful movement of Jews supporting refugees and asylum seekers everywhere. Of course, the world looks a bit different these days, as do our gatherings, but we are excited to offer new and different ways for you to plug into Refugee Shabbat next year. Stay tuned for more resources about how you and your community can take part on a local level and for exciting announcements about HIAS-sponsored Refugee Shabbat events.
B’tikvah – with hopefulness for a brighter future,
