Days to Election Day: 12
John, our election, and our movement, are under attack.
Just last night, The Lincoln Project was attacked, by name, by a trifecta of today's Trumpist intelligentsia—Donald Trump Jr., The Federalist, and Fox News' Laura Ingraham (who came after me personally, as well as everyone who stands with us in this historic coalition).
And, foreign election interference is happening right in front of us. Iran is sending voters threatening emails to suppress their vote.
Hostile foreign actors are attacking our election, and Trumpists are using it as an excuse keep America distracted and attack their political opponents, including The Lincoln Project, instead of confronting the threat to our democracy.
We have a president who is not capable, willing, or interested in standing up to the enemies of our country—because they're trying to help him win.
Instead of promoting democratic values abroad and standing up against oppressive regimes—as every one of his predecessors has—Trump spent his first term befriending dictators and giving our allies the middle finger.
He admires and tries to imitate the worst qualities of the most brutal rulers in the world, because he wishes he could be one of them.
He’s even begged them to help him win reelection. Like a dog.
Look around us, John. Our Republic’s democratic institutions are being attacked—by enemies foreign and domestic.
We have a president who emboldens white supremacists, ignores attacks from abroad and stands by while bounties are placed on our the heads of our sons and daughters.
Donald Trump is scared and desperate—and he’ll do anything he can possibly do to win.
Our country has everything to lose.
