Welcome to another edition of FT Now! New York Governor Andrew Cuomo is
jumping the gun by taking a victory lap over his disastrous handling of
the COVID-19 pandemic. Nevermind New York has been the worst-hit state
throughout this crisis. A new report points out that Joe Biden is
probably the least-scrutinized nominee for president...ever. He dodges
interviews and questions on a near daily basis. Why isn't the media
more upset over this? Last but not least, you probably heard about
Twitter and Facebook suppressing the spread of a New York Post story
about Hunter Biden on Thursday. The censorship has some - including Sen.
Ted Cruz - up in arms. And for good reason, too. Read below for more!

Andrew Cuomo Lambasted for Book Touting His Pandemic "Leadership"

What Happened:

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo is taking some heat for releasing a book
touting his efforts to stop the spread of COVID-19. Nevermind the state
of New York lost 33,000 lives to the illness, and over a million
residents have lost their jobs. But hey, Gov. Cuomo seems happy!

Why You Should Care:

Cuomo has yet to take responsibility for his weak performance in
handling the crisis- specifically his negligence in forcing nursing
homes to accept COVID-19 patients. At best, his victory lap is nothing
short of tone deaf. At worse, the governor could be seen as cashing in
on a pandemic that isn't even over yet.

What Happens Next:

When it comes to Andrew Cuomo, nothing is off the table.

Joe Biden is the Luckiest, Least Scrutinized Frontrunner

What Happened:

A new report this week points out that since August 31, Joe Biden "has
answered less than half as many questions from the press as President
Trump. During that time, the Democratic nominee for president has done
35 local TV interviews, 3 national interviews, and two town halls. He
also went three months without taking any questions from beat reporters.

Why You Should Care:

Joe Biden could be the next President of the United States, and he is
getting a pass from the media. Where's the outrage here?

What Happens Next:

The election is just over two weeks away. Chance are, Joe Biden will
continue to skate by without being forced to answer tough questions.

"Active Censorship": Social Media Blocks Anti-Biden Story

What Happened:

Facebook and Twitter took steps to halt the distribution of an explosive
New York Post story about Hunter Biden's work in Ukraine while his
father was Vice President. Twitter, for example, blocked the link from
being tweeted. It suspended a number of accounts, and even banned White
House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany.

Why You Should Care:

The story, if true, means Joe Biden lied about never being involved with
his son's business dealings while he was second-in-line to the
presidency. Moreover, big tech's censorship of the story should send
chills down the spines of anyone concerned about election interference
or freedom of speech and the press.

What Happens Next:

Sen. Ted Cruz announced the Senate Judiciary Committee plans to subpoena
Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey over the incident. "Never before have we seen
active censorship of a major press publication with serious allegations
of corruption at one of the two candidates for president," said Cruz.
