Friend -- this is a long email about my mom, but I hope you’ll take a moment to read the entire message, then consider chipping in $3 to support my campaign to improve the lives of working mothers everywhere >>

I’m running for Congress because of working parents like my mom.

When I was younger, mom worked at a factory making furniture without any union protections or paid family and medical leave.

I still remember the day she came home early because she was fired for “complaining” about workplace safety risks.

I remember because I cried that night, friend. We’d been homeless before, and I didn't want to go back to the Salvation Army shelter.

I didn't want to be hungry again.

That was well over 20 years ago, and for many, the struggles my mother faced are still the norm in this country.

That’s because the middle class is eroding under the right-wing policies of this administration and its corporate allies.

And now that I’m a mother of two young boys of my own, I’m putting it all on the line to fight for policies like a public health option, paid family leave, higher wages.

With so many hurting, I can’t afford not to.

But Republicans are gearing up to spend MILLIONS in Texas to defeat me and shut the door on our progress.

If we’re going to flip this seat, it’s going to take overwhelming grassroots support.

So I have to ask:

Will you chip in $3 to help me flip this tossup seat in November so we can fight for working families in Congress?

ANOTHER AMOUNT

I can't thank you enough,

Candace
