[[link removed]] Dear John, The Washington Post just published a long piece on the DC Council At Large race that spotlighted our campaign as one of the top contenders with "the highest profiles and most key endorsements." But with five top-tier candidates for TWO At Large seats on the ballot, we only have 18 days left to keep up our momentum win this race. Can you chip in a grassroots donation of any amount right now to fund our Get Out The Vote efforts? [[link removed]][[link removed]]
Here's what the Washington Post wrote about my candidacy and platform for a more equitable DC in today's piece:
"Goodwin emphasizes homeownership to close the racial wealth gap, pledging to champion greater spending on down-payment assistance and help women and people of color launch businesses to expand the tax base. He said he would bring an understanding of “basic economics” to the council, as well as an important racial perspective as the son of a Senegalese immigrant and a Black American who moved to Washington to attend Howard University.
“I don’t just read and study racial inequality, I have lived it,” Goodwin said. “Black people want more investments in their communities, especially economic opportunity expanded, as opposed to simply social services.”
We need to get from Top 5 to TOP 2 in the next 18 days before every DC voter casts their ballot. Most folks are voting by mail RIGHT NOW, so the timing is crucial.
I need your support at this very moment to make sure every DC voter sees this coverage and knows about our Washington Post editorial board endorsement. Will you pitch in a grassroots donation of $10, $25, or any amount to help us reach more voters who are making up their minds right now? → [[link removed]]
