Dear John -

Throughout my time as Supervisor, Mayor London Breed has been a consistent ally in our efforts to revitalize District 11, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.Thank you to Mayor Breed for her leadership during this time of crisis and for her endorsement of our campaign for re-election as District 11 Supervisor.

During this time of crisis, Mayor Breed and I have worked tirelessly to procure millions of masks and equipment for essential workers, create a moratorium on evictions, increase pay and protection for our front-line health care workers, and ensure that all the staff and patients at the San Francisco Campus for Jewish Living and all nursing facilities across the city have access to regular COVID-19 testing.

Furthermore, Mayor Breed, Board of Supervisors President Norman Yee, and myself  succeeded in creating the Family Child Care Emergency Operating Grant program to support Family Child Care educators, who provide child care for children ages 0 to 12 and are a vital resource for families, particularly in communities with a high need for early care and education, but with limited child care resources. Like most small businesses in San Francisco, many child care providers are struggling financially due to COVID-19, and we cannot talk about reopening our City without making sure our child care providers have support to pay rent, cover their mortgage and pay employees during this time. I have talked to many family providers who are on the brink of closure. These funds will be a lifeline to make sure this important workforce survives and that San Francisco families have access to quality care.

From the Mayor’s support of our efforts to secure a $32.5 million investment towards the creation of a brand new 20,000 sq/ft Library in our community to her help in the creation of the first vehicle triage center in District 11 to address the crisis facing our unhoused communities - Mayor London Breed has been and continues to be a strong ally in our fight to uplift and support our community and all of San Francisco. I am proud to have her endorsement.

Sincerely,

Ahsha
