Like most people who came of age in the early 2000s, I remember where I was when I heard about the attacks on America.

I remember what I was doing.  I remember how I felt.  I remember who I called. But today is not about any one person.

Today is about the people who rushed into the buildings to save their fellow Americans.

Today is about the brave passengers of Flight 93 who put the lives of those they had never met above their own.

Today is about a nation that was torn down, and chose to rise back up together.

On September 11, 2001, our very soul was attacked.  And yet, the America we know fought back.  Stronger and braver than before.

As I think back to that day, I choose to think of our better angels, not the darker demons.

In the words of President Obama:

We remember everyone we lost on 9/11 and honor all who defend our country and our ideals. No act of terror will ever change who we are.

We are America, and we are in this together.
