| On Friday, 24 Republican governors signed a letter urging the Senate to approve President Trump’s nominee to the Supreme Court. "As elected leaders of our states," reads the letter, "we support a judicial philosophy like Judge Barrett’s that respects the roles of coequal branches of government and protects powers reserved to the states." |

| The battle over the seat vacated by the late Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg is going to intensify over the coming weeks as Congressional Democrats attempt to block her confirmation.
