A staggering number of veterans have taken their own lives during this pandemic. That’s why House Veterans’ Affairs Committee Chair, Mark Takano, and his Democratic colleagues passed a bill to help veterans access the life-saving care they need through critical resources for state and local entities who run suicide prevention programs.

Unfortunately, the White House is holding up this legislation – it’s still waiting for the president’s signature.

We know Trump doesn’t respect our vets, dishonoring their service by calling them “suckers” and “losers,” but now it’s time for him to put aside his own feelings and do what’s right.
