Dear John,
We are just a little more than three weeks out until the general election, and it is truly one of the most important that we have faced in this generation -- not only for our country, but for our state as well.
Here in New York, one-party control has created a disaster and the Democrats who run the State Legislature have made it even worse. They have enacted dangerous policies like bail reform and then turned their backs on our law enforcement. They totally shirked their responsibilities when we needed their leadership to recover from a public health crisis, and instead handed their power over to a dictatorial governor that wants to control every part of our lives.
The worst part is, they have no interest in taking any of that power back. The Democrats in the Senate and Assembly have been in hiding, and they are happy that they don't have to make the tough decisions that they were elected to do.
We have an opportunity to make a change. We must continue to work together and do everything we can to win as many Republican seats in the State Legislature this November, so we can restore common sense to our state and send representatives to Albany that actually want the responsibilities that come with the elected office.
On this week’s video town hall, I was pleased to talk with our 2018 Republican gubernatorial candidate and current Dutchess County Executive, Marc Molinaro. Marc knows what it takes to be an effective leader and I was thrilled to get his insights on what we need to do to get our state back on the right track. If you were unable to attend, I encourage you to watch the town hall below.
Sincerely,
