When I was elected Lt. Governor, I made a promise to put the brakes on state
debt. When I followed through on that promise, people in the capitol class went
nuts. They thought we were crazy for actually doing what we said we would do.
When we cut taxes Mississippi businesses went nuts too - hiring thousands of
workers.

Mississippi has less debt today than when I was elected, and more of our
people are working than ever before. We can make history if we have a Governor
willing to make the tough calls.When I’m elected, that’s exactly what I’ll do.
