John,
Millions of Americans, including the President and several members of Congress, have now contracted COVID-19. Every single one of them deserves a chance to get well and have high-quality, affordable health care.
But that’s not how it works today in America, and this pandemic has shown us the true cost of our country’s inadequate healthcare system.
The President of the United States is getting top-of-the-line, government-run, taxpayer-funded health care. Members of Congress and wealthy people also get excellent care.
Meanwhile, nearly 100 million working-class Americans are uninsured or underinsured — and widespread layoffs have only made things worse.
The status quo of American health care is unacceptable. We need Medicare for All NOW.
Unlike most of Congress, I know what it’s like to go without health insurance. I understand having to choose between seeking medical care or toughing it out because you can’t afford it.
It is outrageous that in the wealthiest country in the world, so many people needlessly suffer and die because they can’t afford to see a doctor or fill a prescription.
Together we can change this country for the better, but we can only do it if we stand up as a collective and say enough is enough.
Thank you for your support.
Onward,
Mondaire
