Hi there, friend!
I'm just sitting down to write you a quick update before I get into the kitchen to make some chocoloate chip pancake mix. Our daughter, Coco, is turning 11 years old today, and Matt and I are planning to do breakfast up right -- with a huge pile of sugary pancakes covered in chocolate sauce and whipped cream.
We're feeling really grateful and inspired after the last few days on the trail. We had two huge fantastic organizing rallies in Burleson and Austin, on opposite ends of the district. Even with the stifling heat, there's just so much energy and excitement around this movement to take this seat back, and we had amazing turnout at both events.
And we were thrilled to have such fantastic speakers joining us in Austin, with two of my heroes joining us on stage: UT's first differently abled student body president and activist powerhouse Alejandrina Guzman, and Texas' own progressive stalwart voice in the House, Congressman Lloyd Doggett.
On Sunday, we held Distributed Livestream Events which were broadcast in living rooms all over Texas, and we shared our plan to register and turn out more voters than any Congressional campaign in Texas history and immediately began the push for our big weekend canvassing blitz.
Speaking of which, sign up to join us! Even if you've never knocked on a door, or you're feeling rusty, don't worry -- we always pair first-time and inexperienced canvassers with experienced canvassers. This is a great opportunity to get out and talk to those who supported us in 2018 and to invite them into our campaign!
