Tonight will go down in history, California Senator Kamala Harris will become the first Black female Vice Presidential candidate to debate on the main stage. It is hard to overstate the significance of tonight.
We are excited and proud to be able to witness this critical moment in American politics.
Let's be clear -- we want to change the face of politics so it is not momentous that a qualified candidate is succeeding. We can work together to ensure this does not become a one-time occurrence but an example of what is yet to come.
It is 2020, and we are ready for more women and women of color to be in leadership positions, politics, and government.
