It has been several weeks since we discovered the horrific, forced hysterectomies being conducted on innocent immigrant women in Georgia ICE facilities — not a single thing has been done about it by current state and federal officials. This is supposed to be America. While it is not perfect, we still have a mandate to be a bastion of democracy and an example for the rest of the world.
What ICE did in Georgia under the guidance and approval of the Trump administration is authoritarian and fascist at its very core. It’s the stuff of nightmares. As the home of the American Civil Rights Movement, we cannot sit on the sidelines while innocent women who wanted nothing more than a chance at a better life are physically and mentally abused in this way.
Republicans have made it clear they have no interest in conducting meaningful oversight of ICE. That is why we need to galvanize voters of all ages and backgrounds to turn out in down ballot races and tilt the scale of the U.S. Senate with our two Toss Up Senate races.
