Hello John,

NPH is excited to announce our upcoming webinars for October! See below for three opportunities:

ELPN: "Clean Energy For Healthy Affordable Housing" *

Tuesday, October 20 (12pm - 1:30pm)

Building new construction doesn't have to hurt the environment. Join ELPN for an incredible panel featuring Green Building Council of Northern California’s Rising Leader Committee, California Housing Partnership, Association for Energy Affordability, Tenderloin Neighborhood Development Corporation (TNDC), and GRID Alternatives. Speakers will offer a high-level overview of California and Bay Area specific policies and programs focused on building decarbonization for existing multifamily affordable housing properties. Good for affordable housing, great for the planet! See more training details here.

Registration closes on Friday, October 16.

NPH Resident Services: "Sustaining Ourselves In Our Work: Critical Elements Of Self Care And Resiliency"

Thursday, October 22 (12pm - 2pm)

Please join NPH on October 22 for this upcoming workshop with Dr. Diane Johnson (Mmapeu Management Consulting). This highly interactive, experiential, and engaging workshop will address the variety of components that assist us in self-care and sustaining ourselves, the prevention of burn out, and identifying innovative and new ways to support community and team building. Concrete takeaways include the creation of a very simple self-care kit, sustainability plans, small and large group discussion of challenges and responses to the challenges of our work. This session is part of NPH’s 2020 Resident Services Professional Development Training series -- a series specifically designed for Case Managers, Property Managers, Residence Services Coordinators, Residence Service Supervisors, and Residence Service Managers.  See more training details here.

Important note: Since the modules are designed to be interactive and engaging with small group and paired discussions we are limiting registration to 3 sign ups per organization to maintain a manageable size.

Registration closes on Monday, October 19.

NPH Brown Bag Training: "Improving Workplace Culture: How To Create Equitable And Inclusive Work Spaces" *

Thursday, October 29 (12pm - 2pm)

Join NPH for a brown bag where participants will hear from member representatives about their experiences in creating inclusive and welcoming work spaces for new and existing staff, particularly staff of color. Panelists will also share how they have created an environment where feedback is welcome and encouraged and share how others can adopt the same practices. This Brown Bag is part of NPH’s efforts to further racial equity among our membership and across our industry. Working on organizational culture goes beyond just thinking about diversity and truly thinking about retention, long-term growth, and leadership development to help create a sustainable industry. See more training details here.

Registration closes on Friday, October 23.

* Please note:

  • These training will be recorded. If you are interested in these events but are unable to attend, you can still register and you’ll receive the recording and meeting materials in a follow-up email.
  • These training will be hosted via Zoom webinar. Participants will need access to a cell phone or computer. Dial-in participants do not have access to the chat box features so we highly encourage desktop or Zoom app participation, if available. The training will be in English.
    If you need additional support like closed captioning or translation, please email Morgan@nonprofithousing.org.
