Just when we think Trump's efforts to build his bigoted, unnecessary border wall can't get any more outrageous, he proves us wrong: Trump's latest announcement is that he's ready to divert more than $150 million from the FEMA Disaster Relief Fund and billions more from funding allocated to benefit military bases and families, in a completely unconstitutional move.

In the wake of Hurricane Dorian, which wreaked havoc on the shores of North Carolina, this is especially egregious – and diverting military funding literally takes money from schools our military families depend upon in order to detain migrant children at the border.

Here's where it gets even more shocking: Trump is so desperate to get his wall built that he privately told his aides that he would pardon them if they broke the law to make it happen – potentially including seizing private land and blatantly dispensing with environmental rules.

Republicans have consistently refused to hold Trump accountable, and by their inaction, they've made it utterly clear – we have to do so ourselves, and it has to be at the ballot box.
