Seattle Democratic Socialists of America

Trump and the GOP are reaping what they sowed. Their criminal response to the coronavirus pandemic has led to more than 200,000 deaths in the US, and now Trump and many in the GOP elite inner circle have COVID-19. The Trump administration has lied about the virus and downplayed its threat, forced people back to work as they pushed to re-open the economy, refused to send people masks or encourage people to wear them, and refused to provide aid to people during this economic recession, either with another round of stimulus checks or sustained and increased unemployment benefits.

Trump has attempted to undermine confidence in the election, to rile up right-wing, racist voter intimidation, and become increasingly explicit about his intention to try to steal the vote. His COVID-19 diagnosis will no doubt have a major impact on the elections, but we need to be prepared for any outcome. Join us on Tuesday for a discussion about what the left should do if Trump tries to steal the election on November 3. What should we do in the event of a Trump coup or a Biden victory? How do we prepare now for a working-class fight back against Trump and the far-right, as well as the neoliberal policies that Biden epitomizes which paved the way for Trump’s rise?

Join us over Zoom for Seattle DSA’s October General Membership meeting TOMORROW to discuss all this and more!

DSA 100K: JOIN DSA & ASK YOUR FRIENDS TO JOIN!

Imagine 100,000 DSA members. Imagine the power and solidarity we can build in the multi-racial working class together, organizing in the streets and in our workplaces and communities. DSA is actively organizing against racism and racist violence, against sexism, and for Medicare for All, a Green New Deal, and tuition free higher education.

We believe that the economy and society should be run democratically to meet human needs, by and for the multi-racial working class—not to make profits for a few. We are fighting for this society, and we need you in the fight. If you’re not yet a DSA member, join today!

Already a member? We’re in this fight together because we know we need to build a mass socialist movement. That starts with asking the people in our lives to join DSA, the largest socialist organization in the US in over 70 years. Sign the DSA 100K Pledge to commit to recruiting three new members to DSA!

In solidarity,

Seattle DSA
