North Carolina remains one of only 14 states that has not expanded Medicaid.

Because the federal government will pay 90% of the cost, expanding Medicaid is a no-brainer. It's the right thing economically, and it's the right thing morally.

The latest study projects that Medicaid expansion would provide coverage to more than 600,000 North Carolinians. It would create more than 35,000 jobs in North Carolina and provide nearly $12 billion in federal funds by 2022. It would help keep rural hospitals from closing.

But career politicians like my opponent, State Senator Bishop, have blocked our state from getting it done.

As chair of the Senate Healthcare Committee, State Senator Bishop has been one of the key opponents of Medicaid expansion. He's done whatever he could to stop it.

We cannot afford State Senator Bishop's disastrous agenda in Washington. Will you make a $3 donation today so we can stop him at the ballot box?

North Carolina's 9th District is already a donor district - sending far more tax dollars to Washington than we get back in federal benefits -- yet State Senator Bishop is leaving funds on the table by blocking Medicaid expansion.

At every turn, State Senator Bishop leaves North Carolina families behind while he promotes the interests of big drug and insurance companies. He's known for taking some of the only votes against bipartisan bills to cap price hikes on life-saving cancer drugs and let pharmacists inform people about lower-cost drugs.

I'll work tirelessly to lower healthcare costs in Congress, but first I need your help in this fight. I can't win without your support.

Please make a $3 donation to our campaign today. We'll put your contribution to work immediately to make sure voters know where I stand -- and where State Senator Bishop stands -- on the critical issue of health care.

Thank you,

Dan
