In Connecticut, two male high school athletes who identify as female have w=
on 15 women=E2=80=99s championship titles that were once held by nine diffe=
rent girls.=20
And in August, a federal judge temporarily halted enforcement of an Idaho l=
aw that prevents males from competing in the female category.
Across the country, female athletes are being forced to compete against mal=
es who identify as female. These male athletes don=E2=80=99t just compete=
=E2=80=94they dominate the competition due to their unfair physical advanta=
ges.=20
At Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF), we are standing up for these young wom=
en and fighting in court for the law to recognize basic biological reality =

ecticut. And we intervened on behalf of two female athletes to defend the I=

Track athletes Selina Soule, Chelsea Mitchell, Alanna Smith, and Ashley Nic=
oletti have filed a lawsuit against the Connecticut Interscholastic Athleti=
c Conference. Now, the courts must answer the question: Do female athletes =
have the right to compete on a level playing field?
And in Idaho, female collegiate athletes Madison Kenyon and Mary Kate Marsh=
all have been allowed to intervene in a lawsuit to defend Idaho=E2=80=99s F=
airness in Women=E2=80=99s Sports Act, a law that the ACLU is trying to str=
ike down permanently.=20
Madison and Mary Kate have experienced what it feels like to line up at the=
start of a race and know they can=E2=80=99t win. They=E2=80=99ve both race=
d against male athlete June Eastwood, who competed on the Montana State Uni=
versity men=E2=80=99s team for three years before competing as a woman last=
year.
And when the God-given differences between the sexes are ignored, women pay=
the price. Unsurprisingly, Eastwood easily beat the entire field of women,=
at the Big Sky Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships this past y=
ear.
But none of this should be allowed.

Because of Title IX, Selina, Chelsea, Alanna, Ashley, Madison, Mary Kate, a=
nd women across America have the right to fair athletic competition.=20
Thankfully, while many women and girls are too intimidated to speak up for =
basic fairness, these few young women refuse to back down. They are taking =
stand to protect women=E2=80=99s sports. But they can=E2=80=99t do it alone=

If they get their way, female athletes will soon end up on the sidelines of=
their own sports!
We cannot allow that to happen! We must stand and fight to defend common se=

And in August, a federal judge temporarily halted enforcement of an Idaho law that prevents males from competing in the female category.

Let me tell you a little more about these legal actions.
Track athletes Selina Soule, Chelsea Mitchell, Alanna Smith, and Ashley Nicoletti have filed a lawsuit against the Connecticut Interscholastic Athletic Conference. Now, the courts must answer the question: Do female athletes have the right to compete on a level playing field?
And in Idaho, female collegiate athletes Madison Kenyon and Mary Kate Marshall have been allowed to intervene in a lawsuit to defend Idaho’s Fairness in Women’s Sports Act, a law that the ACLU is trying to strike down permanently.
Madison and Mary Kate have experienced what it feels like to line up at the start of a race and know they can’t win. They’ve both raced against male athlete June Eastwood, who competed on the Montana State University men’s team for three years before competing as a woman last year.
And when the God-given differences between the sexes are ignored, women pay the price. Unsurprisingly, Eastwood easily beat the entire field of women, at the Big Sky Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships this past year.
But none of this should be allowed.
