Donald Trump Jr. just named Zeldin the MAGA Candidate of the Week, and on Wednesday, DJTJ is stumping for Lee Zeldin during the Zeldin Victory Committee's Fundraising Event. This isn't the first time Don Jr. has hosted a fundraiser for Zeldin, one of his father's most loyal supporters in the House -- and we expect them to raise hundreds of thousands in just one evening.

That’s why, with Don Jr. coming to town, I've set a personal goal to raise $75K and counter the surge of campaign funds they will raise from this event.

My team is prepared to do the work it will take to ensure that the people of Suffolk County vote in this election, but Zeldin and his far-right allies at the CLF and the NRCC have been running baseless attack ads against me for weeks, and we know that Trump and Don Jr. will put more events like Wednesday on the books for the final 32 days of our race to help them spread their lies.

The fact is, when our elected officials put partisanship and selfishness over science and facts, their actions have real consequences for families, communities, and the world.

Over the past seven months, Suffolk has suffered thousands of COVID-19 related deaths, while Lee Zeldin has cheered on the president as he refused expert advice, lied to us about the seriousness of the pandemic, and blocked much needed aid to people and small businesses.

We cannot afford four more years of science-denying and corrupt leadership to hurt our families in Suffolk County -- and I know if we can run competitive advertising and field programs, we can flip NY-01 red to blue.

And while our polling has shown our race is a virtual tie and that our pro-science message resonates strongly among voters, Lee Zeldin and his allies will continue to push lies to the voters.

In order to beat them, we need the resources to set the record straight.

With people soon submitting their ballots by mail, only three weeks until early voting begins, and the general election just a month from tomorrow, we’re running out of time to counter their attacks and get our message in front of the voters we need to win.

After laying out our competitive TV plan, I’m making it my top priority to ensure we have what it takes to up our spending at any point.
