Just in - in the wake of a game-changing ruling on Republican maps in North Carolina, The New Yorker obtained more than 70,000 files written by Thomas Hofeller, former GOP go-to man for all things gerrymandering. It's absolutely frightening.

For years, he pored over every nook and cranny to give Republicans the edge and ensure GOP majorities. In one instance, he even figured out which students stayed in which residence hall - before splitting the college campus map right down the middle.

Republicans knew his map-rigging was phenomenal - at one point bankrolling him $9,000 per MONTH. But even without Hofeller at the helm, Republicans are still charging full steam ahead to take control and rig maps.

In a recently-obtained email, Hofeller even wrote, "Do not worry about us in North Carolina in terms of redistricting. Even in the coming political bloodbath we should still maintain majority control of the General Assembly."

And team, that's exactly what happened. After Republicans won fewer votes than Democrats in 2018, the GOP STILL kept the majority of the state legislative seats - all because of Republican gerrymandering.

Republicans have manipulated their way to power for the last decade, and they're ready to do it again: Our right-wing opponents just launched "Right Lines 2020," their fight to keep their extreme, gerrymandered maps.
