New Zealand First will lower tobacco excise so that the average pack of cigarettes is no more than $20.

We need to stop punishing smokers with high excise tax and help them quit by making affordable alternatives available.

More of the smoke tax take has to be reinvested into cessation initiatives. Otherwise we’re revenue gathering off our nation’s most vulnerable.

Vaping needs to be focused on smoking cessation, not recreation. Cheaper alternatives will help get people off the addiction.

High smoke excise fuels crime. Sophisticated operations import smokes and avoid tax. Petty crime target dairies and service stations.

Now more than ever, we need common sense in government and with your support we can give ordinary Kiwis a fair go.
