In a minute or two, I’m going to ask if you can pitch in a contribution to our campaign before tonight’s end-of-quarter FEC deadline — our most important fundraising deadline yet. But before I do, I hope you’ll give me a moment to explain why your donation and this deadline matter so much.

Tomorrow morning, we’ll report our fundraising numbers to the FEC, and then those numbers will go public for all to see, including Cindy Hyde-Smith.

We already know we’ve raised more money in a matter of days than she raised in an entire quarter. But with Mitch McConnell stepping in to fundraise for her, who knows how much Hyde-Smith has brought in from corporate PACs, which I haven’t taken a dime from.

I knew if I ran for Senate again, it would take a whole lot of people power to get us to this place: Just one point behind my incumbent opponent in the polls, and closer than ever to making history and moving Mississippi forward.

That’s why — with less than 12 hours left before the FEC deadline — I’m counting on grassroots supporters more than ever. [[link removed]]

As we enter the final month of this campaign, I can’t say how grateful I am for the supporters who were here from the day I announced my candidacy, to the folks who just joined us in this recent surge of support the past couple of weeks. One thing is clear: Mississippi and the South are finally being seen and heard.

I’m more hopeful than ever before that we can win this thing. But it’s still going to take a hell of a lot of hard work for us to reach undecided voters all across the state. It’s going to take all of us uniting and working together to move Mississippi forward.

Which brings me to this. Before I finally ask for your donation, I want to tell you a quick story about our campaign that makes me smile.

Meet Betty and Julius. They are both Mississippians, and they both live on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Over a decade ago, Betty was a public school teacher, and Julius was a star student in her class.

Fast forward several years, and what do you know? Julius ran into Betty (who is one of our top volunteers) at our Hancock County Meet-and-Greet a few weekends ago! It was a great coincidence, and it made a lot of people smile. I am glad to have their support.

That is the kind of joy and hope our campaign is bringing to many Mississippians. For too long, Mississippi has been ignored and overlooked. Our state has a troubled past, and I’m running to help Mississippi turn the page and move forward.

I’m ready to be a voice for all Mississippians. I’m ready to expand Medicaid, defend the Affordable Care Act, provide greater funding to our public schools, create economic opportunities and good-paying jobs, and pass further COVID-19 relief to help our communities recover from this disastrous pandemic and financial crisis.

If that’s the kind of future you want for Mississippi too, please, make a contribution of any amount before tonight’s midnight deadline to help us build a strong coalition of support across Mississippi in the final few weeks of this critical election. It will go a long way and mean so much to me. [[link removed]]
