I'm deeply honored to be endorsed by this leader who believes in our fight for North Carolina's working families.

John,

Today, I am deeply honored to announce that I have been endorsed by Stacey Abrams. She agrees that it’s time for North Carolina to have a Labor Commissioner who will fight for working families. Watching her run for governor in Georgia gave me hope that neither the color of my skin nor being a woman would ever keep me from having a seat at the board table.

“Ensuring safe and healthy work environments is particularly critical right now in the midst of the greatest public health crisis of our lifetimes. I’m proud to stand with Jessica and her record of championing policies that will keep workers safe and benefit working families.”

~ Stacey Abrams ~

In 2018, our country came so close to having its first ever African American woman governor. That year's gubernatorial election was the closest in decades, with Stacey receiving a higher number of votes than any previous Democratic candidate for any office in Georgia. Unfortunately, serious cases of voter suppression ultimately prevented her from making history.

We have our own opportunity to make history right here in North Carolina. We have never had a woman of color earn the Democratic nomination for Labor Commissioner or serve on our Council of State.

I ask that you join Stacey and me and say that the time for change is now. North Carolina has its own history of voter suppression. We have to join together and vote like this is the most important election of our lifetimes - because it is.

With gratitude,

Jessica Holmes
