Trump’s pick to replace Justice Ginsburg on the Supreme Court is Amy Coney Barrett, a 48-year-old, ultraconservative judge on the Seventh Circuit who has an absolutely horrifying record.

Confirming someone so young and ideologically extreme to the Supreme Court would truly be a worst-case scenario.

We cannot afford to have Judge Barrett on the Supreme Court, because:

• She thinks the Affordable Care Act is unconstitutional.
• She believes “abortion is always immoral” and would surely vote to overturn Roe v. Wade.
• She is hostile to LGBTQ+ civil rights and would undo marriage equality.
• She served on George W. Bush’s legal team after the 2000 election, so Trump wants her on the Court to cast the deciding vote to hand him another term.

Her nomination would be a direct attack on millions of Americans. We won't stand for it.

If Republicans fill this seat, then the only way we can protect any of the progress we’ve made in the last several decades is to expand the Court by adding new justices.

Now is not the time to complain and do nothing.

Now is the time to fight harder for our progressive values, and for our democracy, than ever before.
