To Mitch McConnell, one is too close to an election to consider a Supreme Court nomination, and the other is just enough time to confirm another extremist conservative jurist.

Ruth Bader Ginsburg was committed to protecting and expanding the rights of millions of Americans who had been left behind by previous generations. Now, McConnell, Trump, and their cronies in the Senate are jockeying to fill her seat with someone determined to undo her legacy.

Justice Ginsburg’s final request was that she would “not be replaced until a new president is installed."
