Soon enough, we may not be able to trust the Supreme Court to protect our rights -- from affordable health care to affirmative action, from reproductive rights to gun violence prevention.

We likely won't be able to depend on the Supreme Court, the White House, or a GOP-controlled Senate to fight for us. But as Washington's governor, I will fight. That was my solemn commitment before, and I've renewed it tenfold since last Friday evening. As long as I am governor, Washington will protect reproductive rights, take action to end the climate crisis, and lead in the movement to stop gun violence.

As governor, I will protect Washingtonians from laws simply meant to trigger Supreme Court hearings and further extreme right-wing values. I will enshrine progressive rights into law here in case of any federal rollback.
