Beer distributors partner with National Beer Wholesalers Association to fight human trafficking

Del Papa Distributing and Giglio Distributing announced their partnership with the National Beer Wholesalers Association (NBWA) that will help fight human trafficking in the communities where they do business. Employees from the two companies will receive training on how to identify and respond if they suspect this heinous crime is happening. Local beer distributor commemorates American Business Women's Day

Yesterday on American Women's Business Day, John P. O'Sullivan Distributing in Flint, Mich. toasted the success of accomplishments of the women who work throughout Michigan's alcoholic beverage industry. John P. O'Sullivan Distributing is one of a few female-run beer distributors in Michigan. President and CEO Joanie O'Sullivan-Butler is a member of the newly created Women's Advocacy Committee within the Michigan Beer & Wine Wholesalers. “There are now more opportunities in our industry for women than ever before, and I am thrilled to see so many women apply for job openings, whether it’s to fill roles in the warehouse, the front office or on sales routes.” O’Sullivan-Butler said.

FDA proposes detailed traceability standards for food likely to be contaminated

A uniform traceability system could make it easier for the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to find out where a food contamination originated quickly and without stopping all sales. After a lawsuit against the FDA forced the department to enact the entirety of the Food Modernization Act (FSMA), a new traceability standard has been introduced to all facilities that manufacture, process pack or hold certain foods.
