There are just 42 days to go until Election Day. Are you 100% ready to vote?

Today on National Voter Registration Day, we’ve joined together with organizations across the country to push for a historic turnout in this year’s election.

There is so much at stake on the ballot this year. The Supreme Court. Mass incarceration. The climate crisis. Education. Healthcare. Civil Rights. Policing. And so much more.

No matter who you plan to vote for, or how you plan to vote, it’s essential to prepare now.

Here are a few reasons you may need to update your voter registration:

You’ve moved or updated your address since you last voted
You’ve changed your name, marital status, or citizenship status
You’ve changed your political party preference
You are formerly incarcerated, and the voting rules in your state have changed
You haven’t voted in the past few elections

If there’s one thing we’ve learned this year, it’s that none of us can predict the future. We don’t know when a global pandemic will uproot our lives, or if a climate emergency will level our community and what we hold most dear.

But here’s what we know for sure: the leaders we elect on November 3 will impact every single one of us. They will shape the future we leave behind for our children. They will decide if we return to normal—to a world that ignores the daily injustices of being Black, Brown, or low income in America—or take bold action to rebuild better than before.

Our democracy depends on every one of us doing our part. Join us in registering to vote now and making a plan to vote by Election Day.
