Michigan Beer & Wine Wholesalers Association creates Women’s Advocacy Committee

The Michigan Beer & Wine Wholesalers Association (MB&WWA) recently announced the creation of a new advocacy and education committee to champion, nurture and highlight female leaders and key job opportunities in the industry. Coca-Cola to enter US hard seltzer market in 2021

Coca-Cola CEO James Quincey told CNBC that the company aims to have its first hard seltzer in the U.S. on shelves by the first half of 2021. The hard seltzer will release under Topo Chico, a drink brand acquired by Coca-Cola in 2017. “I think these innovations that we’ve seen, including hard seltzer, are a trend of the consumer looking for new things, and if we want to be consumer-centric […] then that’s what’s taking us to this opportunity,” Quincey said in an interview. Dixie Beer company asks for new name suggestions

In June, the century-old Dixie Brewing Company announced plans to change its name in response to ongoing protests and activism surrounding racial equality in the U.S. Now, they want the public to weigh in on the decision. “Join us on our journey to make the next 113 years as special as the past 113 years has been,” Dixie Brewery says on its website. Tampa, Dallas mayors set wager on Stanley Cup Final

The Tampa Bay Lightning is taking on the Dallas Stars in the Stanley Cup Final, and the mayors of both team’s cities have something on the line. Dallas Mayor Eric Johnson and Tampa Mayor Jane Castor agreed to wager local delicacies – including a couple of cold ones – on the outcome of the series. The series is tied 1-1 as the teams head into game three.
