Hello Friend,
It’s my birthday, I’m turning 20, and I want you to donate to my mom’s campaign. [[link removed]]
She is running a true grassroots campaign for mayor, which we all know makes it extremely hard. She doesn’t take money from corporations or police unions. She’s an Afro-Latina, and because she’s my mother, I’ve grown up watching her work to uplift marginalized communities.
My mom believes in defunding the police to create true public safety, providing housing for all, and desegregating our schools. She understands the importance of climate change and the urgent need to make transformative change now. She knows that my generation is demanding a radical reimagining of the status quo. We are tired of our government working against us and our safety. We are tired of officials acting as puppets who reinforce the same structures of racism, classism and violence against Black and Brown people.
My mother is a Bed-Stuy born Boricua, and single mom who will apply her personal and professional experiences, her love of community, her management skills and her ability to build coalitions that work toward a shared vision, to make this city safe for everyone.
Together, we can transform the city to make sure we include and uplift all New Yorkers. But to do it, we need your help!
