Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s parting words for our nation, “My most fervent wish is that I will not be replaced until a new president is installed,” is a request that we must do everything in our power to carry out.

If a Trump nominee is confirmed to the Supreme Court before the election, the Affordable Care Act could be repealed immediately in a case beginning one week after Election Day. Health care coverage would be ripped away from millions – in addition to the six million people that have lost coverage this year due to the pandemic. We cannot let this happen.

Sign my petition demanding that a new Supreme Court justice not be confirmed until after a new president is elected and inaugurated.

Not only will filling this vacancy before Election Day likely result in the dismantling of the ACA, it will also dramatically increase the odds that our voting rights will be next on the chopping block, among many other inalienable rights afforded to the American people.

That is just the beginning of a long list of rights and protections that will be put at risk if we don’t block the confirmation of a new justice before inauguration day.

If we are going to have a fighting chance at protecting access to quality and affordable health care, secure voting rights, and much more, we must ensure Justice Ginsburg’s final wish comes true.

We have a major battle to fight ahead of this incredibly consequential election. Let’s ensure we win and prevent the confirmation of a new, far-right Supreme Court justice before the 2021 inauguration. Sign my petition now:

Honoring Justice Ginsburg’s final wish will be a historic triumph as we fight for the very democracy that she dedicated her life’s work to protect.

Thank you for standing with me,

Henry
