COMMUNITY LEADERS

On Saturday, September 19th at Henry Law Park in Dover, Black Lives Matter Seacoast held another incredible rally. Featured speakers included NH activists, organizers, candidates, and elected officials. Among them, Young Dems Ariel Oxaal, Robin Vogt, and Mark Brave spoke. Ariel and Mark are Democratic candidates from Dover. Ariel Oxaal is running for State Representative in Dover Ward 3, and Mark Brave is running for Strafford County Sheriff.

Also present at the rally were Young Dems City Councilors Matt Gerding and Crystal Paradis, who, in addition to Ariel and Mark, signed onto Black Lives Matter Seacoast's demands for candidates and elected officials in NH. These demands can be found in the pinned post on Black Lives Matter Seacoast Facebook page. These demands will increase our state's ability to hold NH accountable through demanding implicit bias training, making more data available to the public, and restricting law enforcement agents' discretion in use of force, among others.

In the immediate future, Matt Gerding and Ariel Oxaal are kicking off a Seacoast Progressives phonebank on Saturday with Organize NH. Sign up to join them this Saturday, September 26th at 5pm here!

VOLUNTEER IN ELECTIONS

It's a lot easier to volunteer when you can see the direct impacts of Young Dems in elected positions and seeking to lead NH with political power. We have the opportunity to more than double the amount of Young Dems serving in the NH legislature this year. The deadline is the November 3rd election, and we need to rise up today to meet the challenge. We can't cram this one. Please sign up to volunteer with NHYD today! If there is a particular Young Dem candidate(s) or region you're looking to volunteer with, we will make it happen!

SIGN UP TO VOLUNTEER. SIGN UP TO WIN.

The Great Dissenter

"Dissents speak to a future age. It's not simply to say, 'My colleagues are wrong and I would do it this way.' But the greatest dissents do become court opinions and gradually over time their views become the dominant view. So that's the dissenter's hope: they are writing not for today, but for tomorrow."
